American researcher has visited the Institute of Folklore

On the 15th of May Anna Oldfild, Associate Professor of Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University, USA, visited the Institute of Folklore of ANAS. Director of the institute, academician Mukhtar Imanov spoke about the Azerbaijan-American folklore relations and spoke about the research carried out in this direction at the institute.
Anna Oldfield has come to Azerbaijan for the fifth time and is deeply interested in the history, literature, folklore and music of our country. She particularly interested in the art of epos-study and ashug art.
At the meeting the necessity of establishing scientific relations between two institutions were noted. At the end the publications of the institute have been presented to the guest. Head of the Sector “Foreign Relations” of the Institute Ali Shamil and Ph.D. in philology Sonmez Abbasli also participated at the meeting.
