The scientists of the Institute of Folklore took part in the
“Ahmad Yasavi symposium”

On the 21-22 May 2022 one of the oldest and largest municipalities of Istanbul, Maltepe municipality organized “Ahmad Yasavi symposium”. The meeting was opened by Ali Kilinch. General Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the city of Istanbul Alim Bayel greeted the speakers and listeners of the symposium and spoke about the growing interest in the activity of Ahmad Yasavi.

The reports such as “Ahmed Yasavi, Haji Baktash Vali, Yunus Emre thoughts” by Namig Kamal Zeybekin, “Discussions on the theme Ahmet Yasavi and Yasavism” by Mustafa Duzgun Dede, “Problem of culture and science in Ahmed Yasavi’s thinking” by Professor Dosay Kenjeyat, etc. were listened at. In the breaks after each section the musical groups and musicians of the Turkic peoples performed with the program.

The report by the Professor of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS Fuzuli Bayat on the theme “Yasavi sects in the transition from Shaman worldview to folk Sufism” caused great interest of the symposium participants.
At the “Ahmad Yasavi symposium” the head of the Foreign related department of the Institute of Folklore Ali Shamil also made a report on the theme “The role of Amin Abid in the study of Khoja Ahmad Yasavi’s activity by European methods”.
