“Epos nights” was held by Public Union “Folklorists”
Public Union “Folklorists” with the financial support of the Agency of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan started the implementation of the project “Restoration and promotion of epos nights” which is the light of our national morality” since February 2022. The union has previously carried out a number of measures to preserve and develop the epos tradition in Azerbaijan. The three-day “Epos nights” was held in Baku by the ashiqs from Borchali. Chairman of the “Georgian Ashiqs” Organization Nargila Mehtiyeva, members of the organization Ashiq Ashraf Gariboglu (Temirov), Ashiq Gara Suleymanov, Ashiq Samir Garakhanov, Ashiq Gabil Abduyev, Ashiq Darya Malikzade participated in “Epos nights”.
The event was attended by the scientists from various institutes of ANAS, Ashiqs Union, students of various higher schools and so on. During three days, the audience listened to various eposes performed by ashiqs. At the end of the event ashiqs were given certificates and gifts. It should be noted that Public Union “Folklorists” is planning to hold “Epos nights” by inviting the epos narrators from Tabriz to Baku in future.
